The S.T.Y.L.E process is a tool designed to help you gain perspective on your current situation.
You start by laying out the situation as you see it. Writing it down or saying it out loud will help you to put it into perspective.
Next you need to figure out the time constraints. How long have you been afflicted by this current problem? How much time are you willing to devote to a resolution?
Next up is you. Are you ready to solve the problem? How do you feel about the problem? What impact does it have on your life? How does that impact make you feel?
Next on the list is learn. What things do you need to learn in order to solve this problem? Do you fully understand the problem? Is the problem something that is brought on by ignorance on your part? What about other people in the situation, are they part of the problem? If so, why? Is the problem even fixable? Is the fix worth the effort?
And finally, we come to elevate. This usually comes in one of two forms. 1 – acceptance that not every problem has a solution. 2 – you fix the problem at its root. Whatever option you choose the idea is to move on from the problem. If you’re not moving on then you are stuck, in which case you need to start the process again to figure out why you are stuck.
